Never Compromise Quality Just to Sell
One mistake I see many young startups and entrepreneurs make is the temptation to drastically reduce their price just to win a customer.
There is nothing wrong with offering competitive prices, discounts or promotional packages, but there is a point where reducing your price begins to affect the quality of what you deliver.
Never compromise the quality of your product or service simply because you want to make a sale.
If a client cannot afford your standard package, rather than reducing the quality of your work, find a way to adjust the scope.
Remove some features, reduce the quantity, offer a smaller package or negotiate what can realistically be delivered within the client's budget.
But don't promise premium quality and then deliver something below standard because the price has been reduced.
Remember, your price may attract a customer, but your quality is what keeps the customer.
As a young entrepreneur, you are not just trying to make today's sale; you are building a reputation for tomorrow.
One poorly delivered product or service can cost you referrals, repeat customers and credibility that took years to build.
Know the value of what you offer. Price it reasonably. Be flexible when necessary, but never let desperation for a sale destroy the quality of your brand.
It is better to make a smaller sale with quality than a big sale that damages your reputation.
Build a business that people can trust with a positive customer perception not just a business that people can afford.
